I've been trying to find me a good EDC folding knife. I carried a Kershaw Blur for a number of years and like them well enough. The last two weren't worth a flip so I went to looking. Bought me a Benchmade Presidio Mel Pardue blah blah blah. It sucks. Blade won't hold much of an edge and it dings very very easily. It isn't a hard use knife but the edge has a ding that just won't go away like its a weak area or something. That kind of surprised me because it is 440C. Also have a Spyderco something or another. It ain't bad for a little folder but not really working for me in the quality EDC category.
I'm thinking about moving to a Zero Tolerance or some knife as such. I wish them ol boys up at ESEE would make that Izula in a folder. I'd buy a bakers dozen.
Anyway, if y'all have a quality EDC folder let me know. I like the assisted opening lock back and a good steel like 1095. Also MUST BE MADE IN USA. I'm finished buying that cheap ass chinese schit.

I carry the ZT 250 and it is really a great knife. Some will tell you they are hard to sharpen or won't hold an edge. After 2 years I have not had that problem.
Matt Be careful what you wish for because you just might get it.

Have you considered or tried to find an Emerson? Guys that have 'em swear by 'em. I've never even seen one.
I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

I've got the same Benchmade and don't have any of the problems that you have. Send it back to them they have a lifetime warranty.

I carry a Benchmade mini griptilian and also a cheap gerber assisted opening that has held up well. All my Benchmade knives are either 154cm or D2.

I carry a SOG. I think its a twitchy? Something like that, it holds an edge really good and the pocket clip doesn't stretch out and bend like others. Its assisted opening too.

Check out the RAT1 folder made by Ontario Knife. It is made in Taiwan, but very good quality. Read some reviews on the knife. It's the best folder I've seen for under $30.

Been carrying a benchmade presidio for the last 5 or 6 years. If you find something better let me know, I will buy it and retire mine. Until then I'm pretty satisfied with it. My presidio has a 154cm stainless blade, supposedly if the 440c is not heat treated properly the performance is degraded. The guys at benchmade should know all that though. I love my BM Presidio Auto but there are much better knives out there. Microtech Ultratech Zero Tolerance And my favorite, Strider

I carry a Benchmade mini griptilian and also a cheap gerber assisted opening that has held up well. All my Benchmade knives are either 154cm or D2. Just got the sale email from Marks outdoors they have the mini griptilian for 59.99, it does not say when the sale ends regular 99.99. Great knife for the money.

+1 for the Kershaw Leek...under $50, razor sharp, and MADE IN THE USA. I almost bought a Leek but then I believe Rebelman said he had issues with it rusting right after he bought it. I held off after that. I have a Buck I am carrying right now.
