Deer have mostly rods in their eyes and no, they can't see color very well but they see (50) shades of grey (from what I have read). I think a big blob of grey sticks out more than camo would but it's motion that usually reveals the hunter.
If you turkey hunt... YES! Camo makes a difference I think. So... why have two different sets of clothing for deer and turkey?
I spend WAY too much time and money on trying to kill a mature buck to not wear camo and I closed out the year with a bow in my hand. I don't kill many bucks with my bow and the one on your left; he and I were in a stare-down for several seconds at 14 yards while he's facing me! I had on face paint and I squinted my eyes and at the moment of truth, yes, I'll gladly invest a few extra $ for camo.
I rarely hunt from a shooting house AND, I like seeing turkeys up close and personal when I hunt. If I'm on a swamp, I like seeing ducks and have them swim within yards of my tree.
Does camo matter? For most deer hunters, no. For me in a tree with a bow taking in all of nature and not wanting to be seen, YES.
I know next time that I'm in a stare-down with a mature buck and he's close enough to spit on, I'm not taking any chances. Joel Stone should have him ready in a week or two and I don't think I'd had the chance to put an arrow through him if I'd been wearing mono-colored clothing.

Most camo, not so much.
ASAT camo, a bunch.

Bucktrout: there's a lot to be said on shades ,we cann't match natures colors&shades if we cut it,oops, you move it ,oops,In the old days some of the best trackers & snipers were said to be color blind.I need a 4 wheeler to get around, ive taken deer from it when in a good hide. sound smell sight movement wind.I like to do my set ups and traking feb, mar. set up hides, then pull out, then hope for rain to hide my signs & smell, then come in to hunt, and don't go near there naturl runs, keep them happy, but be where i can see, if they think something wrong ive had them inspect the area at night to find me. they don'tleave the area they may just go around you .This a great topic for all to share notes:i could learn a lot Thanks

I am not smart enough to know if camo matters with deer. But I know I like camo and usually some on everyday. May just be a hat but thats my style:)
