They were moving midday and at night in Clayton this past weekend. Didn't get a chance to hunt this week so I'm not sure if anything has changed with the weather.

We're not seeing as much rut activity this year as we usually do this time of year. Usually by this time, the bucks are really starting to rub and scrape but we've seen very little so far. maybe it will heat up soon.

Very strange year. Movement is almost dead. Hoping it picks up in the next week or so.

In the 70's we hunted in the Mt. Andrew area, back to the old Gulledge grocery and over to Evergreen Church and it seemed the bucks would rut in mid Dec. One old buck was killed around 1969 that had a metal tag in his ear showing he was a Michigan stock deer.

Good god y'all have to be joking. I hunted on the bullock/Barbour county line in the great hope community from 97-05 and I saw at least 1 deer on every hunt for the last six years I hunted there after I used the first two years making lots of mistakes learning how to hunt. Has the pilgrimage of rich hunters to south Alabama killed the deer hunting down there?

Yeah c’mon. Daniel White

No the deer are still around. Mostly moving at night. Tracks are still everywhere, the deer sightings are just few and far between this year. All this should change starting this weekend with the dark moon.

I hunt in Barbour bucks have been chasing for a week grunting. We have seen more bucks walking in two weeks than the entire season including bow.

Reports from Union Springs tell me that deer movement slowed a bit in the last week but they can still be seen during daylight.
