exactly...there are hundreds of 100-120" 8 points killed in the midwest every season and a lot of them are mature and way 250. They just have a higher number of higher scoring bucks, but it's a misconception that the avg. mature buck in the midwest is 140+ and/ or that they only kill mature bucks. I've heard that the only thing Illinois has going against it is the high percentage of 2 year old bucks killed there. What they do have going for them other than the obvious (soil and food) is their rut falls during bow season so a lot of great bucks are seen but not killed and they don't have a rifle season.
