My son I were in our shooting house this evening, and we had seen several deer (all doe). Anyway, right at dark we had deer on both sides of us, and my son stood up to look at the deer. When he did, the to our right took off and started blowing. I think they were all does, but it was dark. The deer to the left paid no attention to the blowing (went on for 5 plus minutes). How long should I stay out of that stand before going back?

As long as you care to, I'd say! Does can be funny - sometimes there's a doe that will blow at anything, and the other does might pay her no mind. Of course, they likely scented you, and if it were me I'd give it a couple days. It is likely that they would be there the very next evening, however. Another idea, if you were hunting alone, would be to set a stand off in the timber on the trail you see them coming in on and catch them there.

Youth weekend my son was about to pull the trigger on a doe in a greenfield when another doe in the woods behind us started blowing. First doe looked our direction then went about her eating so my son went ahead and pulled the trigger. Funny thing was, that right after he shot, the doe that blew us came out into the greenfield like nothing ever happened.

I will find out Saturday morning if the incident effected the deer movement in the field. It just concerned me since I haven't been busted in that field in several years. Also, it being dark, I'm hoping a buck wasn't close by. I know the bucks are a little more skiddish when they bust us.
