I finally have a little time to send out a couple pics and the story on Jacob's first kills! He is my 14 year old brother-n-law and getting fired up about hunting! Hopefully, this added fuel to the fire!

----------------------------------------------------------
18 Nov 2012

So we are running a little late after getting out of church, having lunch, picking Jacob up, loading up the fourwheeler, ect. and head up the mountain about 2:30...I was hoping to be set up by this time since I was going to have to make some noise making us a place to hide in the edge of the cutover off the field. So we are flying down the road on the fourwheeler and I had decided to park at the intersection of the main road and the little pig trail that field is at the end of....Well I go confused and the pig trail was only about 50 yards long instead of
150 like I thought; so, as we are getting close to the field I'm really starting to think I've screwed us up by parking so close but figure its too late to change it and just keep matching on....As we start getting within 10-15 yards of the edge of the field I start of slow down and pick a place to sit then I see movement and it's a deer in the far in the of field...so we hit the ground....I slowly raise up the binos to make sure its still in the field and it is feeding and has no clue we are there....But, Jacob is about 3 feet behind me and can't see the deer due to the knee high grass around the field....I get him to hand me his gun and slowly crawl up in front of me...Now he can see the deer but can't see it through his scope because of the grass....at this point he is slowly starting to feed away from us and I'm afraid its going to the leave the field....So I tell Jacob to lay his gun down and crawl about 5 more feet up....i follow with his gun and now he can see it clearly and can get on it with his scope...so I remind him of where to aim and to slowly squeeze the trigger....I'm watching him squeeze the accu trigger and once it disappears I look back at the deer through the binos....1 second later BOOM! And I see the white flash in the binos!!! He has killed his first deer with a spine shot at 65-70 yards!!!!!!!

So the celebration and high fives begin....I get him to drag him up the entrance of the field, paint his face down with blood and take a few pictures....Then I drag it back to the fourwheeler and show him how to gut it and get it hidden in the shade...Its only 3:50 so I ask him if he wants to try for another one and with a BIG smile on his face he says "YES!"

Now he are tucked away in the cutover and ready for more action after texting a bunch of people and letting him call Kelli and his mom to tell them the exciting news! I have the video camera ready for #2 even though I didn't think we'd see anymore deer...Well about 4:30 I start hearing movement to the my left in the cutover and start staring that direction when I hear Jacob say "deer!"...I'm still looking but can't see them so I turn to my right and a big doe and 2 little ones are in the field....the 2 little ones come out and head for the far end of the field while the big doe is slowly feeding about 30 yards to our right behind some thick brush....with every step she is getting a little closer to the opening and Jacob is ready....I've got her on the camera and coaching Jacob through getting turned and his gun up....after about
1 minute I hear him say, "I'm on her" so I remind him to get on her off shoulder and squeeze the trigger...."BOOM" and #2 is down without a flop! Perfect heart shot at 30 yards and I was able to get it on film!

That was one of the most exciting hunts I've ever been on! He doesn't show much excitement but was FIRED UP after that....He just kept saying "this is awesome!" or "Man, that was fun!"

Hope to get him another 1 or 10 before the season is over!

Good deal. I think I see your plan: As long as you are taking your wife's kid brother with you you'll have alot easier time getting permission from her to let you go. I like it

Life is a journey. Make sure and bring plenty of Beer.

My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.

Good deal man, but ya'll were not gone long enough. I just barely got my supper eat before ya'll showed back up at your house.
