horseshitt, mid July to mid Oct is close to 90 days and those fawns will still be sporting spots, fading but easily seeable.

I'm basing my statements on 30 years experience raising orphaned fawns and observing their progress, over 100 yawns over the years.
Your experience is based on ONE fawn of dubious birth date???
