Out of curiosity, how much money have you lost since January in your investments and 401(k)s?

As of today about 8%

None, I haven’t sold anything

Mine is just stagnant, I rolled most of mine into stable before the election.
Maybe messing up, waiting on the big dip.

Most are saying we will retest the lows.

My investment value went down 4 to 5% but all mine is in growth an aggressive growth funds which is high risk. But I haven’t lost a penny because I haven’t sold or cashed out anything. Was down 10% at one time but I don’t care because I’m in it for long term. Now time to invest more . Shares are cheaper .

On paper I am down 1.3 in value currently and it was 2.0 at the worst point.

+1, I am buying when I can. I like getting stuff on sale.

Yeah and truthfully nobody’s down bad just “down” from the super high imo.

Zero, all my investments are in ammo, guns, metals within arms reach, and two geriatric dogs.

There’s no such thing as a free lunch. I don’t trust anyone with my money except for me and my wife. If you’re working for a foreign owned company contributing to a globalized stock market it seems to me that you’re selling out your country. I’m an ignorant sob though

I pulled mine about a month and a half ago. I just got back in at about a 5% discount. Should have waited a few more days.

Maybe I look at it wrong. If my 401k is worth 500,000 then 2 weeks later it’s worth 450,000 I feel like I’ve lost 50,000. Same as when it gains I feel like I’ve made money

You have it correct: you "feel" like you have lost or gained. Big difference than "actually" losing that amount!!

As long as you can ride out the ups and downs without needing to remove your investments, then sometimes it is just better to only occasionally check out their value and just keep faithfully investing each month. Over the years you will accumulate wealth.

I agree. I watched the collapse in 2008 worry my Daddy to death. I always said I’d never let it happen to me but it does bother me.

I have not even looked at it and don’t plan on checking any time soon. No need to get my blood pressure up.

Ditto , I bought 4 new to me stocks and some more Berk-B shares in the last 2-3 months, all are up. I bought Palantir on 4/8 @ $77 it's @ $ 114 today .
