I need to screen a section of my property from a road and from a house. I'm only wanting to plant native trees. It will be "L" shaped and several hundred yards long and maybe 40-50yds wide. Total area is approx. 4 acres. Is pine going to be my best option?
I do need trees so that eventually the screening will work from an elevated box stand.

Chickasaw Plum. Use Egyptian wheat inside that until the shrubs get tall enough

Look into wax Myrtle(myrica cerifera). They are native, grow to size quickly, are evergreen and will sucker creating a penetrable thicket. You can also find them from local growers about $5 each for gallons.
