"A day out riding is better than a day at work." - Irishguy I got to meet a new local riding buddy from the Alabama Adventure Riders yesterday. He's a fellow veteran, a good rider and has some dirt riding experience so hopefully we can start riding on Fridays and hit some dirt back roads. Yesterday we rode from Lookout Mountain to Horseshoe Bend Military Park, it was a great ride. I was able to pick up a sticker for my saddlebags with a picture of my great grandfather on it. Zion on a bike must have been fantastic Everything about that trip was fantastic. Except for the 120 degrees in the painted desert crossing the Colorado river at 4000' elevation and then the same day getting into a thunderstorm going up to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon at 7000' and the temps dropping to 50 degrees and freezing our wet asses off.
