When the tops break over and lay to the side they are ready. Best way is to pull them and set em right back on top of the row if there is now chance of rain. Leave them for a couple days then move them to a cool dry place and let the cure until the thin outer skins dries and gets brittle and then cut the tops off. You could either dice, vacuum pack, and freeze or store the bulbs where they can have air flow around them. I dice and vacuum pack all the small and medium onions and keep the larger ones for fresh onion rings, grilling or fresh cutting to cook with. Ours are usually ready to pull in May here.


It's hard to kiss the lips at night that chews your a$$ all day long.
