Moved my Primal45 to a 6.5 Grendel AR today. Adjusted zero on the optics and noticed ejection is approximately 3:00. Shot another 6-8 rounds through it later and when I dumped the brass catcher and magazine the fired and live rounds are very discolored. Just a factor of being suppressed or do I need to tweak gas system ?

This was handloads with 95 gr Vmax over Benchmark powder.

Direct impingement ARs crap where they eat. More so with a can. If it’s dirty brass and not a face full of gas I wouldn’t go chasing better very far.

There are three options of ascending effectiveness and price

Gas busting charging handle- this doesn't do anything to keep gunk out of the receiver but it does greatly reduce the blowback in your face.
adjustable gas block- you can run it on a reduced setting when shooting suppressed and crank it back up when you're running without a can, will reduce the gunk in your receiver by quite a bit
gas piston conversion- as close to zero gunk in the receiver as you can get., but pricey.

IMO the combo of a gas buster charging handle and an adj. gas block does all most people need and at a fraction of the cost of a gas piston system

Even with a piston system my 6ARC and 6.5G run super dirty suppressed. It just is what it is. Was staring at my pile of once fired 6ARC brass earlier. They are almost black.

They are both inherently dirty rounds....especially the 6 ARC. Its performance makes it something I can live with, however.

Have you tried Google?

Yep, I have a gas piston system and it’s still dirty AF. Just part of it.

My previous suppressor experience was with a 300 BO on a bolt action so this was kind of surprising. No big deal and since function is spot on with this arrangement I see no need in chasing something that may not exist. THX.
