Does anyone know where or how to find the deer man days per WMA in Alabama for this past season?

It should be on the app.just count up the days on em. Most of them had 26-30 gun days if you include muzzleloader and 70ish days with a bow. On em I’d say.

What I meant by man days is the old Alabama outdoor news would publish every year “ Man days” on the WMA’s . That being said if 1 person hunted 1 day on the WMA that counted at 1 man day. If 25 people hunted on one day it counts as 25 man days. It’s a way to tell how many people are hunting a certain WMA to see how much pressure it’s getting. They use to post deer kill rates like it takes an average of 10 man days to kill a deer. That would help you determine deer density on the WMA usually. I was just wanting to see how much the WMA’s are getting hunted to try and determine hunting pressure. As far as I know the last one that was published in 19/20 season. That’s been 5 years ago. I thought it would be interesting to see how much it has changed since then.

The man-days should be easily generated now since the phone app WMA check-in launched. Send them an e-mail and ask. Please post results if they provide!
I tried to request data one time and they told me NO, since i'm a non-resident.

Yeah they used to publish them. I guess they don't plant food plots anymore or publish the man days.

Damn shame they don’t publish that data since now they actually have the data from the app. I mean that’s why they pushed the app on everybody, so that they could gather data. I guess the general public isn’t entitled to the data the DCNR gathers. Either that or they are to busy counting dollars from the baiting and reef fish permits to care about publishing data that might be useful to the general public.

I did find this. If your wanting just harvest statistics you can look them up by selecting the county the WMA is in and it will tell you how many does and bucks were taken from the WMA and all other land like NF or corps of engineers under the federal tab. Still dose not tell you the man days on the WMA to see how much pressure there was to compare to harvest statistics. I’m waiting on an email response back from the ADNR to see about that. https://game.dcnr.alabama.gov/

Back in the day I used to track my own man hours per deer and Barbour was aways the winner. Hunted Barbour, Coosa and Oakmulgee mostly.
