I’m wanting to put it on my 223 AR and run 22LR through it will be the main thing I don’t shoot a crazy amount but will shoot auto when I’m shooting also would probably run it on my deer rifle in hunting season probably 7mm-08

Any personal experience and best option for what I’m wanting?

Your best option is going to be two separate suppressors.

You’d want to avoid running 22lr through a center fire can since the 22lr is so dirty. Not saying it wouldn’t work, but it’s just gonna be dirty. If you do want to chance it, make sure you get one you can at least disassemble (and check thread pattern, I think 5.56 threads are different than a .22lr thread)

I believe 5.56 and 7mm-08 are also different threads, so you’re going to want a suppressor with a hub mount or a quick detach since you’re gonna have different threads to use it on.

There’s a thunderbeast 7 with a hub mount that I’d highly recommend on gun broker this morning. I just wouldn’t do the 22lr out of it.

Centerfire suppressors generally don't need cleaning, but rimfire cans definitely do.

Threading on a barrel can be generally stated, but there are no absolutes. Most common are 1/2" x 28 and 5/8" x 24, but I have seen 9/16" x 28, .578" x 28, 11/16" x 24, M18 x 1.5, right handed, left handed, metric threads, ad infinitum.

Best rimfire can I have ever used is a Dead Air Mask. If I could easily trade suppressors, I would trade all 3 of my other rimfire cans for that model.

And I would never shoot rimfire through a centerfire can with any regularity.

Look up the Liberty mystic X. It will handle both and comes apart for cleaning. Shooting rimfire will require cleaning.

I would never run my center fire suppressors on a rimfire….. even the ones that are serviceable and rated for it. Rimfire cans are fairly cheap.

I also won’t buy another 223/5.56-specific suppressor. It’s not worth the limitations and stuff with more volume works better anyway, even if the bore is larger.

This is the best advice here IMO. You can handle a lot of firearms and calibers with a 22lr can and a 30 or 36 cal. can. The only advantage of a dedicated 223 can is the smaller size and lighter weight, but at the cost of being limited to the smaller bore diameter. The larger capacity on a 30 cal can will make up for the sound lost through the larger diameter bore, and some platforms have replaceable end caps that you can install when you're shooting a sub caliber (the Omega 36m comes to mind) The Omega 36 also can be used on a 9mm handgun.

Agreed. When I bought mine, I was going to upgrade the voucher I had for a 22 rimfire suppressor to a .223. The representative I talked to dissuaded me against it, and recommended getting the rimfire can and a 30 cal. I kinda thought we was just trying to upsell me, which I’m sure he was, but I’m glad I went that direction. I’ve had more fun with that can on a 7mag than my ARs or 22-250. Which they work great for the 223 calibers as well. What minor loss of suppression you will lose with the 30cal can, will be made up in the versatility of putting it on a wide range of calibers.

Sub-sonic 22lr is pretty quiet without a suppressor. I doubt I'll ever bother with one. I don't have a single suppressor to recommend from personal use because like others here, I take the multiples route.

Anyhow you're looking for a user serviceable .30 cal can rated for full-auto. There's more than one. It'll depend on your budget and how much weight you will tolerate hanging off the end of your deer rifle. Look at Can Co Armory.

Get two cans and be done with it. Like others have said .22 is just too dirty to run through a center fire can plus a center fire can on the end of a little .22 rifle or a pistol is not going to be any fun at all.

I have a form 1 can on my T1x that is really quiet and just ordered a Resilient Ramblin Man 46 cal to run on a 450 bushmaster and 308. It has the HUB mount so I went ahead and got the 5/8x24 on the way as well.

I have a Sparrow on on .22LR bolt action and an El Camino on a 10/22. I chose the El Camino over the Mask because it felt it was a little lighter. I need to swap the suppressors between guns to try them out. Big difference between the bolt and semiauto. I was expecting the bolt gun to be quieter but the difference is very noticeable.

So, the bolt slap on a 10/22 becomes VERY loud when you suppress subs in it. If you replace the buffer with one of the plasti or rubber coated ones, it’s MUCH better. I don’t have much issue with varmints noticing the cycling now.

ALMODUX is correct. That bolt stop pin is the first thing I change when working on a 10/22.

^^^^ FWIW, a piece of plastic coat hanger can be shaped to work for quite a while. Don’t ask. wink

For the OP, there were some two-fer/bogo sales going on, and they’ll happen again. You can also haggle with the manufacturers themselves sometimes for a special deal on buying two at once. The Silencer Central deal with the K2 rimfire can for free, wasn’t worth the tax stamp IMO. I wouldn’t waste a stamp on a rimfire can that was only ‘marginally’ quiet, just to save size and weight. They're almost all small and light, comparatively, and rimfire is the ONLY place you can get Hollywood quiet, anyway. Why screw that up?

OTOH, if you INSIST on a single suppressor for all, the Silencer Central Banish 30 WILL do it all. I’d just make sure I cleaned any rimfire build up of lead, etc out before I ran heavy center fires through it and got over pressure.

I submitted forms for that bogo this week. You’re right, the K2 can didn’t have great reviews but I did watch one video where it did decent on a rifle. I figured what the heck, I needed a DA Mask anyway so I got it and the K2.
