We were able to recover the track from yesterday evening……He was still alive 23 hrs later but bad crippled up and weak…..We jumped him at the 900 yard mark and he just got up and fell back down….he did that 2 or 3 times and then once I was able to clear the dogs that was all she wrote……
The shot entered the arm pit…..came out of the deer’s belly and then grazed the hindquarter…..It must have caught a little bit of gut because he stunk……..
Got another call on the way home on one that crossed the road on the hunter just at dark…….He wasn’t sure about the reaction but had a decent spot of blood at the hit site and then nothing else……We found him about 125 yards away in a thicket………
