As far as I know there’s actually nothing that says anything about possession being a matter of who shot it first or last…..Its completely between the hunters to decide…….

I think you are right as far as laws go. But it has alway been understood that whoever killed the deer is the one who killed it. Looks like We have to get the state to make a new law for that.

Never needed a dog for tracking. Saw my BIL jump in First Creek in Lauderdale co 5 years ago to get a deer. The water was 4 ft deep. Granted this is January and cold. He gets the deer out and asks do I have a bar of soap in my pack? Why? Well I’m in here and might as well get a bath. I fell down laughing.

We already have too much bull crap state regulations and involvement as it is.

Just stop and look at what they did with the baiting permit.

Since it's implementation, the price of that danged permit has increased EVERY single year.

Don't think for a minute that it won't continue to do so.

Everybody, and I do mean everybody, needs to listen to Troy, Bham Fred.

Oh hell the baiting permit ,,,, just a few more dollars . grin

I've shot a decent number of pine goats in my time and never needed a tracking dog either. I do remember one that my Dad killed that we didn't find until the next day.
