Sounds like to me he had no intention of replacing your card if he had no means of viewing/erasing pics until you caught him. So why give it back then? If his intentions were to steal it, seems he would still have it. All you would have is a suspect without proof unless you saw him actually take it or had another camera on that camera. The way it could be seen though is he was close to the camera thinking he was going to check it and knew he would be the one blamed since he knew the game warden was right there. The gw don't know when ge checked his camera last so in his retaliation hey was just gonna check the pics and returned. Just playing devils advocate. I don't know what happened or why he did it.
