Elon is the type of person that many of the super connected truly love or fear. While they’re doing their back-room deals, he’s pulling a Tony Stark exposing their relationships while in the middle of a Congressional hearing…or could.

I like some of what he does. But I don't trust him. Don't trust Trump either, but I know Trump is trying to help.

Elon laying off 2500 american employees then asking for even more H1b visas to take their place, don't think he won't do that to us too if it benefits him.

Elon knows, as do I, that American universities no longer produce the best of the best engineers, scientists, doctors, you name it. The bar was lowered for equity so many years ago that we are now losing the last of our brightest individuals. The real fix is to expunge all that crap from our universities but that is impossible. They are dug in like ticks and the culture is cemented in place. As much as I dislike it, importing people who had to be the best of the best makes a lot of sense.

Daylate while a lot of universities do suck there is plenty of Americans capable of doing the work. It’s 100% about cheap labor. I’m in the IT consulting industry see it every day. Tons of incompetent Indians only in place because they’re cheap.

No doubt about that Hall. I wasn't referring to that kind of import. I graduated with an engineering degree in 94. By the time I got my Masters in 2000, all of the really hard courses required to get that same Bachelors degree had been removed from the curriculum for the sake of equity and inclusion. Furthermore, the Masters curriculum was a joke. Anyone could get through it....as designed. I had to teach the professors to keep them from spreading false or inefficient training to the students. Today, I work in aviation software systems and almost all of the newly graduated engineers I encounter are woefully uneducated in the very areas they should have been taught at school. It is scary because lives may depend on what they are supposed to be trained to do. I cringe at the thought of another moon shot, much less Mars. We have not cultivated minds to reach that level of accomplishment anymore.

Our most esteemed universities used to set the bar so high that only the best of the best got through. As politically incorrect and unequal as that may sound, it was absolutely necessary to producing the best graduates. It has not been that way for a long time now. We now see the catastrophic results of that everyday unfortunately.

I lean towards cheap labor as well but he'll get the smart ones. It's easy to get someone to kiss your ass when they only get to stay in the US if you say so. I hope Musk is legit but I don't trust the dude. What's funny to me is seeing that guy called a "patriot", making money isn't patriotism.

I've said it before - Elon is a good guy until he is not. The amount of power he has is terrifying and his power needs controls and assurances and a fail-safe switch for us little people. Shooting him dead may not kill him. We could see Elon the AI appear and that would be running things.

Agreed, but he is the man for the trying times we live in. God uses folks like him. He single handedly saved free speech, regardless of his motives. Following his involvement with the UK muslim rape gangs is very interesting. He does, and says things that support a genuine concern for people. The fact that Trump has the last say and Elon is in the background instead of being part of the govt is a powerhouse combo.

I worked in I.T. for a very long time. Full time and part time after I got on with the Fire Service. I watched very hard working men and women, very good at what they do, get laid off and asked to train their foreign replacements, who were working for a much lower salary. It wasn't even that the Americans were being paid too much. They weren't. Most had side jobs to get by. Elon is part of the problem. He may also be part of the solution, but displacing Americans with foreigners, thousands of them, is bullshat.

Now, if you want to argue about todays employees feeling like they are special, needy, difficult, I'm sure there is no shortage of that. As for me, I'm always going to side with American workers over foreigners whenever possible. The key words there are whenever possible. If you can't fill the spot with qualified Americans, fine, import what you need. That's the case, very often, in blue collar jobs. But it's not the case in white collar jobs.

I don't trust Elon to be serving anyone's interests but his own. I used to be that way with Trump, but I've witnessed enough from him to know he is also working for his best interests, and they happen to align with Americans first.

I agree with that 100% , plus he still plays video games. But when he in that interview said the Woke Mind Virus killed his oldest son and vowed to kill it back. I believed him. The problem, I am afraid is that the woke mind virus is like The Walking Dead Virus and that we are all infected it just has to be triggered.
