Hoping for my birthday present. 🎁 0 seen so far . Sitting where 2 power lines intersect . Electric coop bush hogged the right away this summer behind my house . . Should have gone back to my other shooting house I sat in yesterday. Saw a spike and 11 does and fawns . Thought I needed a change of scenery this morning.

Sitting on the back porch smoking two pork loins watching a field 220 yards away. Maybe one will meander through. I’ve let several walk over the season while porch sitting due to not being the right one.

What time will the loins come out of the smoker ?

In a box stand on a powerline running down middle of nature hardwoods with pond slough to my right. Heard a few shots real early but I’ve seen nothing but 4 woodies swimming within shotgun range. I’m thinking a pot of duck, chicken, and sausage gumbo sounds pretty good right now.

Low belly shot.......probably gonna have to get a dog......You may have just grazed him but a lot of times you barely clip the bottom of the guts with that shot.....Gonna definitely want to give him some time even if you start finding "good blood"

I shot a 5pt in the gut a few years back like that, knocked all the hair off of him and tracked a few drops of blood, went back the next morning and got on blood, found him about 75 yds away, his stomach was bare and guts and had fallen out....

Thanks gents. I passed on the recommendation for time and a dog. I figured they either gave him a nice shave or the guts gonna be hanging out.

Saw a swamp rabbit the size of a goat and a bow hunter snoozing in his stand 25 yards off my line.
