3 of my good friends and I got together for a quail, chukkar, and pheasant shoot over in lowndes this afternoon. We had a really good time. I think only 5 or 6 birds got out and I think we knocked out 30 or more. I was especially pleased with my gun. I got this from the widow of a dear friend several years ago. I’ve shot it a time or two but never hunted with it. It’s a 1953 Browning A5 Light 12. I got the IC barrel from an ALdeer brother last year because the original barrel had a poly-choke in the end. My God, I can see why they were the gold standard of shotguns. It was an absolute pleasure shooting this gun today. had a good time today thinking about my friend Phillip and all the times that trigger had been pulled over the decades. RIP and thank you for blessing me with your friendship! ![[Linked Image]](https://i.postimg.cc/jq7XsxTj/IMG-9571.jpg)

Hard to beat an A5 for being fun to shoot! I have one that's from that same era that my dad bought and used for the rest of his life. Congrats on a fun hunt!

That’s awesome! What kind of dogs did you hunt over? Brittney spaniels. Had several that would point and then one that would go in and flush em up.

Need a couple of decades since I’ve done a mixed bag hunt like that. Always enjoyed them especially watching the dogs work

Thanks for the info. Going to the tower shoot at LWSSC on Feb 1st. I got a buddy that puts on a “poor man’s pheasant shoot” 3-4 times a year in Macon co. $140 a gun I think. No frills. No food. Just waters and sodas if you want. Always have a good time and plenty of meat to take home. I’ll pm you and you can text me your info and I’ll let you know the next time he has one. I don’t go to them all but they are a lot of fun.
