We are headed to Kentucky this coming weekend for the free youth weekend hunt on some private ground in western Ky. Per usual the meteorologist were forecasting upper 60s/low 70s during the day and 40s/50s at night but now its showing mid 80s and lows in the 50s. Hopefully deer will still be moving. We have never stepped foot on the property, but there are no food plots and beans were cut a few weeks ago. There are some big bucks on the property so hopefully we can slip up and see one. Was hoping to get up there friday to do some glassing and get the blind set up, but its looking like we will have to slip in Saturday morning and set up.

My oldest killed 3 bucks in 6 trips to the KY youth weekend. The weather was always the key to success. You probably have access to better ground, but that stagnate, 80+ degree October weather never worked out for us. We always had fun though.

That blind will be 90 degrees. I'd think about not sitting in one. Also, bring the bug spray.

We may ride over and check out Ballard, West Kentucky and Boatright WMAs for next years hunt or maybe even the late season this year. Anybody have experience with those.

Get in the oaks Acorns dropping I assume? Yes and will only increase by this upcoming weekend. My son and I will not sit a field edge at all this upcoming weekend. In fact, turkey loungers are a real possibility in a couple of spots
