Same thing I was thinking......I wonder where they measure the wind speeds....if its ground level measurements or wind speeds up in the air?

Looks like the early morning walkers are out there on SGI. The shells you don’t normally see are always abundant after a storm.

Gonna take awhile to clean up this mess near Bluffton Sc. Still got power though.

That is about where I figured the worst flooding was going to be and further up into the Carolina hills. The flash floods with that much water volume coming down the hills could turn in to something really bad.

We did fine in Crawfordville. It will be back to normal today. Just east of Tallahassee it is a total mess on I-10.

So, a major hurricane comes close to SGI 12 hours ago and it doesn’t look like a grain of sand is misplaced?

SGI is pretty good ways west of landfall. Same thing happened with Panama City Beach / Destin during Michael.

At work already in Sarasota (from Apollo Beach). Normally work from home on Fridays, but we are opening at 10am, so a couple of us came in at 8 to be sure the roads were passible, had power (or needed to get generator going), etc.

No problems.

Yep. May as well the whole Blue Ridge Parkway corridor , lower Appalachian Mts are gonna be really bad. Those mountain creeks are rolling. Those small towns with creeks and small rivers down in the valleys are gonna be in trouble and it'll happen fast .
