Our system is wrong because this would work.
No marriage. Man works Woman stays home with kids and does not work. Does not file for any sort of child support from the father. Woman then files for every state, fed benefit for her & the kids. She would make more doing this than the dif between paying child care and working. Couple lives like they are married.
------------- Can the man put the kids on his insurance? Can the man also claim the kids on his income tax?
There are probably several scamming methods than I don't know.

Its kind of an open secret but a lot of regularg looking couples with children in nice neighborhoods are technically not married and are doing just that. Its young people who figured out the math and that system makes the most sense for many of them. If you talk to them and ask about it, you will see that all they are doing is the best option they got to attain what used to be the basic standard.

I’ve known of two couples that did this. One couple actually legally divorced to work the system.

Usually the man is working out of state too. He gets to claim nothing but the woman gets it all. Sometimes he’ll have several woman. I know a lady at DHR and they know but can’t do nothing about it. Usually the woman will take the man to court but he’ll be laid off or whatever so they can’t garnish then he’ll work in another state. It works very well. The value for the woman is usually around 60k. Obama change many of the regulations that cut into the abuse. Home and vehicle values were not as limiting like they once were.

If you talk to them and ask about it, you will see that all they are doing is the best option they got to attain what used to be the basic standard. It’s not young people that figured this out. This was figured out by black women generation ago and has been passed down through the generations by great great granny. There was an article published in the Readers Digest on the subject through the teachings of one such and she walked the author through the process step by step. They also had workshops like Dave Ramsey on how to beat the system. Not how to build individual skills, relationships, or wealth. They are as Clinton says it take a village to raise their kids but 90% of the men are out producing new crops and leaving them for those women to raise. I work with a woman that’s got 38 brothers and sisters and they are all fine with the seed dropper they call deddy. It’s disgusting how the use the term baby daddy's and baby momma’s . Completely negates the word Parents. Young whities are following the same path.

Morals have gone to the way side . Know many folks that spend all their time working the system when if they spend their time getting a job a working they be 10 times better off . If this economy ever hits the fan their assistance is stopped all suddenly be folk fighting for food . Right now less than 50% of the the working folks are paying for the other 50+%.

Wrong, they don't gain anything because the government ain't stupid when it comes to paying out benefits and getting scammed. It equals out the exact same. Everyone thinks that people are getting great government support but in reality they're not. Go try it yourself if you don't believe me. It's poverty and a joke. The government doesn't give you anything except lousy food stamps and Medicaid. These people aren't getting what some of y'all think. They're dirt poor and broke.
I know a lot of people that do this but they're screwing themselves. The woman is getting screwed mostly and the man pushes it because he avoids being married to her and can walk away easier and not have to deal with a divorce. But in reality he's losing too cause of back child support and tax dependents.
If you do the math it works out exactly the same as being married. I've done the math over the years and it pays the same as being married and claiming your wife and kids vs beng single and getting food stamps and no tax dependents. Medicaid expires and you have to renew it. Same as food stamps and you have to have an address different from your spouse that's working. If this was true then everyone would be divorced and living together. The woman gets kicked out and gets nothing if they're not married and her paying mortgage as a team. I know because I had a stay at home wife for 8yrs with one kid. My taxes were the exact same filing her and the kid as dependents vs before we married and her and the kid on food stamps. Your way better off being married and claiming them as dependents. You can't get them on your insurance unless your married. You can't get your kid on your insurance unless you can prove it's your kid.
People do this because they're avoiding marriage liability. They're not gaining anything by staying single and trying to scam but most people are dumb and think they're getting ahead this way. The government ain't in the business of losing money this way.
Id rather pay less taxes using them as dependents, get a much bigger refund using them as dependents and not have to worry about her taking me to court acting like I'm a dead beat. Because your gonna get a little more back at the end of the year vs her food stamps and free Medicaid. Its not a win staying single like the OP description. Good luck finding a woman dumb enough to do this because she's getting cheated out of possible divorce assets.

I have trouble taking government assistance. It’s ridiculous that we give these handouts to people that are working the system. That’s why we have the huge deficit that we do. It’s unethical and immoral. It’s wrong. That’s MY money and YOUR money they’re taking. That pisses me off.

Most economical way to raise a family? Stay out of debt. Mortgage is the exception but you shouldn't over buy.
Young folks starting out today are having a rough time with this economy. Guy at work is doing what the OP described.
Thats the problem. Young people cannot afford a house or car using the traditional model anymore. Young people want what we call the basics but those basics are damn near impossible for an average young person starting out. So they figured out this method to get started with the idea that its only temporary. But the reality is, once they get themselves roped into that system its real damn hard to get out of it because people become dependent on it.

I’m sure there are lots of POS people who do this. Lots of folks working just as hard as me and you who do it to survive, and youre calling them a pos because they get what they can back from our theiving govt just like you and everyone else does. If youve been 100% straight up and honest every time you go to the tax office, then keep talking but if youve ever used one loophole to get out of paying the theiving govt what you owe them, youre the same pos you just called these people. Everybody gets what they can but some bellyache and call names because theyre jealous that other fella is getting a little more.
