There we have about 500 peach trees in several sizes, 6 pear trees, 15 plum trees, 2 jap persimmon trees, several kinds of blackberries, boysenberries, muscadines, rasberries, blueberries, jostaberry, pawpaw, pomegranite. We bought this place in 2020 with intentions of starting our own orchard. My daddy said 100 times "when you plant your orchard", and every time he said it i thought he was crazy, i didnt want an orchard. Well, here it is. Daddy was right again. We also rent my daddys orchard and a neighbors orchard who passed several years ago. 300 old peach trees in them. Weve had big problems in both of yhem but theyre still struggling along and producing. I pushed up 200+ of them last year. What made it rebounded well and will make a pretty good crop this year. Theres always problems growing stuff. Every year we lose and replant peach trees. Some things we try to grow just dont want to be grown. Then theres the work. We hire very little help, my wife and i take care of about all of it, with the help of the Lord, most of the time more him than us. She will have to have a little help this year picking peaches, theres just too many of them. Our kids do help, when we make them, they are not fans of the "farm life", which i understand, i wasnt either at their ages. But at this point in my life, it appears i love it, i just keep planting more. Last week my wife asked "whats next"? I told her im done, i cant take care of any more. Theres one member on this site who has 10x what we have, thats very impressive, and they do a great job with what theyre doing. Other members here who just love growing things and it shows off in their lives.

What kind of peaches produce the tastiest peaches of decent size? How hardy are they? Awesome setup! I'm guessing you're investing in the future by selling fruit

And i dont know exactly how we got to where we are but the investing in the future sounds reasonable

I learnt a lot about gardening growing up with grandparents. With success does come a lot of work. Kinda like the spiritual journey of our life. Congrats JW hope your satisfaction outweighs the sweat and blood!
