Anyone been that can throw out some good tips? I’ve got an opportunity to go next year and before I put a deposit down I just want to make sure I think of everything. Thanks in advance!

Not much to do except go and have a great time. Ive been a half dozen times with either Trek Safaris of Hook’n Fire. Both were very good, Trek maybe a shade better. Bird populations were a little down last year. Usually you can shoot literally as much as you want, eared doves, pigeons and parakeets. Guns are usually good, but heavily shot. Shells are decent. Food is very good. Worst part is trip down. I hope to go again. If you have specific questions, Ill be glad to try to answer.

Thanks man. The main thing I’m wondering is additional costs/logistics outside of hunt and is there any additional legal obligations (forms, licenses, etc). The place we’re using advertises transportation to and from airport and licenses included but almost always there’s other costs and bureaucracy

No visa required if under 90 day visit. You will need a current passport that expires at least 6 months after your trip with at least one open page. All have picked me up at airport and delivered back and have handled customs, etc. If you are not landing in Argentina from US, (ie may layover in Chili etc), you may need paperwork there. Ive not experienced any odd fees, etc.

Been to Mexico a 1/2 dozen times in the early 2000's when it was safe. Been wanting to go to Argentina just haven't been able to get a group together.

We went and had a blast. You will need a shoulder pad for the recoil. Pre buy shells if possible, you'll use them. Pick out a spot and shoot all the doves coming through that area. It's not like Alabama where you have to spin around to shoot. They will come from one direction and will be pass shooting. They won't try to land like here. You may need a coat for morning shoots. You will need some quality earplugs or muffs.

Hospitality of the locals we dealt with as far as guides, drivers, cooks, people that ran the lodge were great and gratuity should be based off your experience.
We used Mayers & Goldman and shells were Fiocchi I believe and guns were Montfeltro Benellis. Good equipment I thought.

Ear muffs are a must. Comfortable shoes, hiking boots served us well on the dry days. Light jacket and I always take a light rain jacket for travel.

You might inquire if your lodge can do a day or two of duck hunting if its in season or fishing for Golden Dorado just to do something different. I had 3 1/2 days of dove and was trying to make shots doubles just to quit shooting so many shells.

We were near Cordoba.

I've been numerous times and booked dozens of guys for birds down there. It's a trip that if time and money were no object I'd go every year. My last trip down was in August and I had 18 guys over a 7 day period. Food is fantastic, lodging is great (the lodge that I book for), guns are either Beretta or Benelli 20ga, some of the bird boys speak a little English but not all of them.

You're going to spend roughly $6,000 for a 3-day trip. (unless you are getting a hell of a deal on the trip or you're spending too much) That will include meals, lodging, 6 shooting sessions, bird boys, gun rental, tips, massages (if you book them), airfare, and roughly 3000 shells.

I've been from March - September. The weather will be best May-early August. I highly recommend a GOOD shooting pad, a GOOD pair of leather shooting gloves, and good slim line ear muffs.

Feel free to ask any questions you can think of.

I've been three times . It's a great trip of course the flights down and back are the worse part but that's all trips. I've been in March ( will never do that again cause of how many damn bugs it was ) been in September twice. I don't think you can go wrong with time of year as far as the shooting goes. Shells have gotten ridiculous. We paid $17.50' for 25 this March which made me want to vomit
