Well…they kilt the one ise hunting this mornin…somehow…he never made a sound…an they was under him before daylight…i rekin that was about the only place i could hunt durin the week..an i doubt theys more than one there

found another one..3 gobbles an silence😐

Hey guys just realized I was on a team last night. I’ve never killed a Turkey so I will be a liability. I called one in range on 3/27 but missed the shot I was hunting a Bow only property so I could only use a crossbow and think I just misjudged the distance. I’ll be hunting Monday-Thursday all public land. I’m also taking a trip to Georgia with a buddy at the end of the month on public land. Hopefully I can connect on one.

Had one at 35 yrs but came in only off shoulder…he putted due to not liking what he saw I guess? I swung but no shot as he ducked and putted trotting away. Not the happiest of canpers

Yep a rookie mistake as I shoulda shifted as he was going through the pines. If I had my gun pointed in his direction, I’ve got bird #2 on the ground for us. Let’s just say I called him some names 😂 dangit man hope you get on one in the am

I been there..almost verbatim…i been on turkeys but my gosh they are being attacked by people…i seen 2 dudes with 6 decoys the other day…an i had one dead yesterday mornin..i had one shock gobble in a random crow an set up..i purred an clucked little an scratched..he crested the hill at about a hundred yards lookin for me…i know he was fixin slip up there..bout that time i heard some yelpin back to my left an it was baaddd..i thought… well..its over..sure enough he come walkin up the road an blew that turkey out an his hen…i know he heard him..i swear if you aint ever turkey hunted an dont know what your doin…you ortah have to apprentice..or take a course…he walked up in front of me totin a dang crossbow…gyatahmighty knows i wanted break his legs..but i get it…everbody wants a piece..just fewer an fewer pieces..he learned a lesson maybe.

Well shoulda had two in two days. I guess after that first one this year the good Lord needed to humble me and lemme tell you it worked. I feel like a dumb butt rookie as I should have had two in two days. I can’t hunt till next weekend either.will be frustrated all week lol

I’ve worked the past 2 nights and work tonight. I get off at 7am, gonna run to the house pick up my trailer and then head to the WMA. Gonna set up camp do a quick mid day hunt and then get after them again Tuesday morning. Probably won’t hunt Wednesday due to weather

Played the game this mornin…hens kept him alive…hes livin on borrowed time if he gobbles like he did today when i aint got to leave him

Just walked half a mile in on one of my local WMAS hopefully they’ll start gobbling soon

Kill em up! Going with a buddy on Saturday as the caller and there’s 3 strutters there yesterday…can’t hunt long due to sons 1st birthday party

Didn’t hear a bird yesterday on a different WMA today listening from a high spot. Hopefully one will start talking here shortly.

Guys I’m getting my bit whipped. Went with a friend on public land this morning. Got set up on a ridge around 0520 or so. Didn’t hear any gobble on the roost worked our way further down the ridge and had one hammering about 6-700 yards away on the opposite ridge. We cut down the bottom and got on the ridge he was gobbling on. Let off a crow call and he responded. We cut the distance to about maybe 300 yards and got set up just off the ridge from him. Let out a call and he responded. Pretty sure we heard him drumming but never saw him. Sat there and waited for about 45 minutes never saw him and never heard him gobble again. Not sure if he spotted us or if he already was on a hen and headed the other direction or what.

Turkey hunting is fun but it’s terrible at the same time.
