About to pass a home school bill. Seems some big money shady anti gun groups have snuck in a clause that says your home will be declared a school if you home school your kids. And it’s a felony to have guns in school. Not exactly a liberal state and these same groups may be trying to go after other states home school bills. So if y’all know anyone up there tell them to raise hell quick because even done of the so called conservatives in the legistlature are behind the bill wonder if they have been paid off. 😬😬 I think its BS the school seems to think a bus stop in front of someone's house in a neighborhood is also school property. Don't see them maintaining it. An SRO wanted to search my neighbors house because his son posted a hunting pic with a gun on instagram.. Didn't make a threat, she just didn't like him. Thankfully my neighbor told her to go pound sand. Wonder who was watching the school while she was off campus trying to violate peoples rights? Let me get this straight. Your neighbor has a School bus stop near their house . His son posted hunting pics on social media , made no threats , and the SRO came to their house wanting to do a search? If I'm following correctly , this disturbs me more than what Goatkiller posted .I reckon he's allowed to post outrageous nonsense . What disturbs you? The bus stop and the picture posting are just 2 issues I have with "school" overstepping. But yes, the neighbors son posted a pic to his instagram, not during school, in which he was holding a gun. He made no threats, and doesn't ride the bus. He drives to school. Somehow the SRO felt like she needed to come search his house. BUt then again, I have been called for them trying to manage my son's social media account for a post he made during a weekend. His account is hacked, and the assistant principal wanted my son to unlock his phone and let her go through it. He said no. So if this is occuring in Alabama, imagine what a more liberal state would be like.

Did the picture of the kid include the school bus stop in the background or was this some random picture? I would certainly think that could make a difference here.
Did the SRO have a warrant? If not how did someone show up and just search a house?
Overall something doesn't seem right... how much trouble has this kid been in? Inside and Outside school?
I am not sure I would 100% trust what your neighbor is telling you includes all the facts. Alleged hacking of social media accounts and all that.... starting to smell fishy IMO
What your neighbor clearly needs to do is quit their good paying job... move to nowhere and start homeschooling this kid he's clearly getting picked on by "the system". They should run away and teach their kids that it's someone else's fault. Those are great lessons to teach your children. Got quite a few proponents of that here apparently.

I'd be disturbed so much , I'd have been at the next city council meeting with a lawyer and the news media in tow if a SRO came to my house without a warrant wanting to search.

What struck a nerve today was....I said I could spot how stupid a homeschool kid was by simply looking at their parents. A statement that I standby 100%.
Then I made a Wolf T comment.

No they should turn the kid over to the school who clearly knows better than the parents. Parents need to quit sheltering their kids from the system and let the system do what it does. That way the kids turn out to be the well adjusted products of the system that God intended them to be. Kids need that exposure so they can learn about social justice, racial inequality, gender fluidity and how they can go about exploring their own sexuality. Or they might just need to learn how to be a furry. So many benefits to public education that just can't be duplicated in a homeschool environment. I have never home schooled but I've got plenty of experience with public education and my experience tells me that education isn't what is really happening in most of these schools. I guess the conservative in me trust parents more than government. There was a time I'd have been disturbed to see someone who calls themselves a conservative , advocate for more government control but after watching the last few decades of elections I now understand that RINO's aren't exclusive to government office.

Interesting tirade you went on there... So I guess you are saying my questions wouldn't be relevant to the situation?
Also when you reply - What's a furry?

Well I was mostly focused on being able to tell how stupid people are by just looking at them. BUT Apparently these homeschool dudes kids like to wear Wolf T's......That's what seemed to set them off.

Connect those dots and get back with me if you have any questions. The dots I’ve connected are pretty clear. I had no idea what a wolf T was and don’t care. You attacked homeschoolers as being stupid. People called you out on it and you doubled down, which only confirms what I’ve thought a long time. The most unintelligent dribble spewed on this entire thread is yours. Not sure you are doing it for attention, for grins and giggles, or maybe you just simply don’t know any better, but it’s ridiculous either way.

If school age children are home schooled, who will pay the AEA dues ? Shutting down that liberal union would be a bonus.

He's certainly entitled to that opinion regardless how ignorant and misguided it may be. The part that bothered me was him saying he was against the rights of parents to make those decisions. His belief that public education is better preparing kids for life says plenty about his reasoning abilities.

I'm against home schooling almost 100% of the homeschooled kids I come into contact with I can tell are stupid just by looking at their parents. Living cheap out in the country and home schooling your kids is not putting your children on a pathway for success. I have direct family who does this so I have first hand experience and I've got a couple nieces and nephews that were almost stupid as a result. Instead I helped them. Both parents are highly educated but unfortunately are lazy in life and didn't want to work hard so they moved from one of the most expensive neighborhoods in Atlanta to the middle of nowhere. Homeschooled their kids lived broke didn't work hard so I guess they achieved THEIR life goals. Just because people that share your DNA are stupid doesn’t mean that nearly 100% of all homeschooled kids/parents are stupid. Kind of a myopic view of homeschooling. The public and private schools don’t house straight A students with highly intelligent parents either.
