I got drawn for May 3 at Cedar Creek, anyone ever turkey hunted there? I don't know what to expect but I bet the ticks and mosquitos will be there

Bring vanilla spray

I hunt along Cedar Creek. No Natz works better than vanilla spray on the bull gnats, which are pretty bad right now. That being said it does nothing to mosquitoes or ticks. So bring something with deet in it as well. Also I got me one of those Bug Tamer head nets, works great to keep you from getting bit but does hamper visibility.

Many turkeys there and will they be gobbling that late. Anyone hunted there?

Thermacell and permitherin then go hunting. It won't be bad

Hunted it twice, what units do you have?

I know I hunted close to a river last weekend and the bugs like to have killed us. I think some bull gnats bred with some velociraptors and we found their hatchlings. It was horrible. The thermacell just got them excited. They thrived on the challenge. I had mine right under my face and they laughed at it. I come out of there with 9 quarter sized welps on my face and neck. Looked like a dang meth head. 3 days and a tube of cortisone later I was about over it.

They have not let me know what units I have woodleyrd, maybe soon

Plenty of rattlesnakes will be there. Especially in May.
