I didn’t hear a thing on the roost so went to check another spot and heard one close to where I usually park. I drove around to that side of the land, got out and he hammers about 150 yards from the truck. I was thinking it was probably one of those same jakes I been messing with. So anyway, I eased around the bend in the hayfield and whoa!! It was a longbeard on my place! Unfortunately I was in a bad spot with no cover at all to work him. He gobbled a few times and kinda half strutted so I got a good show from the cheap seats. He was in a hayfield and the terrain on this place very, very challenging. Time was not in my favor so Instead of educating him, I eased out and hopefully will get a rematch with him. It was encouraging to finally see mature bird.

Usually head for the open spots.
