In all of the great shotgun videos on YouTube, I've never seen an overview of this particular shotgun that isn't super rare but not common either. So I felt the Lord telling me to be the first to review it in video form.

BPI,
Too much sentimental value , my son killed his first turkey with the 20. Way back in 1996

I've been looking online since you've posted this and the 20's are not cheap if they are in good condition. I'd hang on to it if I were you as well. Great guns plus the sentimental value.

Great looking shotgun. I just bought a not as pretty 1187 Compact 20 gauge with a 21” barrel and synthetic stock. It’ll get drill and tapped and camo dipped. Will make a great turkey gun.

Thanks, fellows. Maybe this is the gun that will help me learn how to hit a flying bird or clay target. Overall my percentages are pretty low.

Personally I hate those shotguns with a passion. They don't feel right to me but then I'll pick up a Double with an English Stock and it doesn't bother me for some reason. I don't know why.

Vernon - you need a shotgun shooting lesson. I'll come down there and throw pigeons to you in your yard if that is what it takes. You need to meet up with one of the crew here at a skeet range and see if we can't get your straightened out.

Liked your video BTW nice job.

thumbup Good job Vernon.
My Dad was enamored with the Special Field when it came out in 83 so I just bought him one. Liked it so much I bought me one too. I toted that thing all over north Alabama and Tennessee back in my bird hunting days.

Me too but I love a O/U with a English stock. Sold the 1187 20 and bought a Ruger Red Label 20 with a English stock liked it much better.

English/Straight stocks on the BPS Upland, Gold Hunter Upland, and Franchi 48 were my preference, in repeaters for ‘feel’ and function. I should have kept some of the Remmy Special Fields I had years ago….just so I could sell them at prices these days. Lol
