Looking for a cost effective Deer hunt outfitter within a few hundred miles of Huntsville. Don't need a guide, as I'd prefer to do self guided hunts. Looking for a hunt for just my Son and I. Never done one and could use some personal references. Thanks in advance!!

Cost effective is such a relative term, and since you don't want a guide, I would recommend that you apply to the SOA hunts and try to get in one of those. You can also call Bojie Beers at Alabama River Lodge or Billy Watts at Blackbelt Lodge and see if they will do a self guided. I hunt around them and know them personally. Your son will see plenty of deer and have a great time.

Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

Speaking of Ezell - that ezells restaurant has gotten good over there again - new management - usually packed. Only open Thursday thru sunday now

That’s his brother I’m pretty sure. They had season tickets right behind mine at the Bama games. They threw down on some pregame meals. Really nice folks

Absolutely giant bucks in there…we ate there back in January and it was a fine meal. Look forward to next time.

To the OP I have heard good things about pushmata as well

Push has some good properties and so does Bent Creek. Just know that most Alabama outfitters are going to be highly pressured in order to make a profit. Very few have the amount of property to run the amount of hunts it requires to stay a float.
