It's 30x60 with slab

Neat. I've always wanted a Quonset hut.

I’m not a fan. A lot of wasted space. Prefab metal buildings are very reasonable right now. Pour your own slab and they come set you up.
30x50x12 is right at $15k plus slab

Let me know the vendor please. A friend is looking for something like that and has been quoted WAY higher! Mine is the same with a 12' lean to down one side and 14' walls and I paid a good bit more than that, in 2018.

Well it's on some property I'm looking at, just trying to get a value...

For me, that is a $25k building. It is big and nice, but no doors..

I know things have gone up, but I have several. friends that have built metal shops in the last 5-7 years and they have finished portions with plumbing and heat and they are only in the $30k-40k range (if central HVAC is added).

There's a place I believe in south Tennessee that builds them for a good price. They just built one for my coworker in Somerville. Took them a while to get to her because they stay booked up. They poured the slab and built a pre fab barn for her. It was a great priced.

That building is stout. We use to have one. They're maintenance free and don't rot. Hot as hell in summer and freezing in winter but they are tough.

I just built a 30x98 with 84 foot enclosed and a 14 porch. 10 foot sidewalls. It was 42k with a slab.

Summertown metals built my 30x50x12 a couple of years ago, I'm happy with everything except the way they poured the concrete in front of the garage doors.

Would a Quonset hut withstand high wind or tornado wind, better than the old roof/gable?

I’m in the middle of building one of these types of Quonset huts. Mines 40x80x20. The base plates were right at 5200 and the end kits I’ve priced were around 3k each. The building itself I think was around 40-45k when the original owner bought it in 2017 so adjust for inflation. My father in law ended up with the building (unassembled) after the original owner had some debt issues. He gave it to me after he sold his business.

I’d estimate the cost of the one the OP is asking about is probably around 35-40k.

For anyone thinking about getting one of these buildings, pay someone to put it up for you. You can build these with some help, but trust me, pay the man and save yourself the trouble. I’m about to contract out the remainder of the build once I wrap up a few things on the base of the building.

What company did you use to build your building?

I built one about 20 years ago for my uncle to store his motorhome in. Never again my life will I do something like that. That was a royal pain in the ass.
