I’m fortunate enough to have a truck provided by the company I work for, that I’m allowed to use for personal stuff as well. They replace it every 5 years with a brand new one. I do own a truck but it’s 14 years old and honestly don’t see myself ever buying another new one. I don’t even want to buy a used one. Funny, I’ve thought back on every truck I’ve ever owned and every one got a little less fancy, and more practical, the older I got. Now the wife has a nice Expedition that pays off in a few months so we’ll be free of that payment for hopefully a long time. She works just to pay for the extras (cars, trips, etc..). I tell my boys, mostly my oldest, NOT to get caught up in the whole “got to have a fancy truck” thing. Thankfully, vehicles don’t impress him much. I hope he stays that way.
