Needing to buy a new ATV spreader for the back of my 4-wheeler. Mainly spreading wheat/oats and sometimes corn. Any recommendations specifically for one that spreads oats well.

Our club has been using these for years. If you clean it up after using it it will last a long time

I used a Moultrie this fall from clover seed to oats and cereal rye. It did good with all of it. I was really suprised how well it did with the tiny clover seed. Did good with the oats and cereal rye too, just a little slower. I had got the spreader 50% off with a code somebody on here posted. I was glad to have it. It has two holes in the bottom of it a little over an inch in diameter each hole. I think the corn would come out but i bet it would be pretty slow

Straight oats will not flow through the guide gear spreader...ask me how I know. The DR Power Equipment 125# Spreader will but baby the on/off switch or update it to something worth having. That simple switch is a PIA about making a good connection. The bottom slide door needs silicone lube also or atleast mine does. If you have the money a higher end Swisher or such might be better.

Bottom line... The DR spreads oats and has an agitator that helps them along but be preparded to perform minor fixes every time you want to use it. I'm handy with such things so it's worth the hassle to keep it running. If you are not, try something else.

I never had those problems with our gear guides. Cleaning after every use is a very good help
