Does anyone here work in the buying/selling of used heavy machinery or have a good place to obtain values? I’m trying to figure out what our John Deere 700h LT is worth on the buying/selling market.
I’m not positive of the year right now, I’d have to dig up the numbers, but think early 2000-2005. We’ll assume hours are normal or below average because we rarely touch it.
This isn’t the pic, but looks exactly like it from everything I can see.
I also have a 2004-2006 Komatsu WB140 that I’d like to figure a price range on- it’s a little easier though because I can find them online for sale easy enough.

Depending on shape of undercarriage and hours and overall shape but you can probably count on no less than $40,000 on the very low end up to $70-$80.
This . All about shape of undercarriage ( rollers sprockets and tracks) . Very expensive to replace . An how many hrs on machine an how worn pins and bushing are. From looking at pics tracks are worned almost flat . An it being open cab bring price down a bit . Still 40k plus my opinion if less than 5000 hrs

Don't know if it's an indicator on that one , but the grousers , aka toe nails, are gone. Check and double check the undercarriage and idler rollers. That's where the big $ to repair is. If the undercarriage is worn but has some life left it'll run a long time just putting on the farm. Those 700s are good machines , great size too. Price depends on hours and undercarriage . Could be anywhere from 30K up. There's 0 chance I'd give 40k for a JD 700 with high hours and worn out undercarriage and tracks.
I'll suggest get someone who knows tracked equipment you trust to look it over.

For what it’s worth, the dozer in the pic isn’t mine, the pic was just for reference on the model. Teeth in my tracks on are 3” or so, not worn flat

Bought a 450g in December, 2000hours on the machine (retired forestry unit) engine had been replaced due to low oil so 900 hours on replacement new clutches, good undercarriage for $38k. So as others have said depending on condition north of $40 easy.

If the undercarriage is in excellent like new condition, $40-55k…if its a clapped out turd..still gonna rock around the $28k-40k mark if it runs good…if yall just been puttin on that machine a. It aint been gettin worked hard..that things probly like new…i hadnt run a john deere in them year models but they made an make a fine machine..average to low hours kn a machine that old would probly be in the 3-6k hr range…an its hgot hours like that then the pads at the least are probly wore good id guess an the grousers are probly about flat..if it aint then its probly been replaced…in my experience runnin in chirt or anything sandy..you get about 3000hrs out of a set of pads an the chakn may need alot of work or more than likely completely replaced…once you get to rockin around the 5-7k hour range…id suspect the entire undercarriage is going to need to be completely overhauled…new sproket, rollers, idler tensioner..and chain an pads again…some more..some less..an it depends on what you run the machine in and what you are usin it for also…we had a d3 that had to be completely re worked at about 4500hrs because it was gettin worked to absolute death about 6 days a week it got dang near 3k hours out in it in a years time..thats smokin one in my experience..the sproket teeth were so worn it wouldn’t hard catch the pins..barely would move.

Depending on the hours and shape of the machine but 40-60 depending on all that. I’ve got a 650 just like that and they don’t make machines like anymore. Those are some of the best machines made.

If my math is right that’s almost 8.5 hours a day 365 days [/quote Your math is fine..if it was 8.5 hrs a day…that dozer got ran id say🧐10-14 hrs at least 5 days a week pushin coleche and others base materials buildin roads and an insane amount of work on the ranch i worked onin south texas an gettin run in nearly pure sand…disclaimer…i was not the one runnin it..little mexican preacher ran it an a big d7 with rippers. They built a 25 acre lake for us and it took probly 6mo to finally clear and completely re shape 135 acres or so along with stock piling i think around 400k yards of material..my memory may be failing on that..it has been quiet awhile…when the company we hired to do it won our contract they bought brand new equipment to do just our project…the amount of material they moved was stupid an they ran 3 pan scrapers for i have no idea how long everyday…i know the top of the dam was something like75 ft wide an the base all the way around was wide..i mean..i cant remember the exact number but i bet the bottom of the dam was 300ft wide… we had a 10in ductile iron main ran to the center and its origin was about a mile away where we had a 250hp well installed. I think it took them and the company that laid the liner about 18months to finally complete the job. I dont think it had a full 3k hrs..probly more like 2700..but it was an insane amount..an i saw that machine runnin more than not…i do remember when they brought it there an unloaded it..it had plastic on the seat..after it was over..i dont think it even still had the hoods on it over the motor an about all the windows was knocked out from runin in mesquite motts…i promise you..it got beat to absolute death..but i dont rekin it ever had any engine trouble. I know they had some older cat dozers they would do inframes on in the winter…they said they could get 16k hours out most of the older cats before they had to do a rebuild..i know they had a mid 90’s model d7🤔 i think..it had a little over 24k hours on it but it was on its second rebuild an ready for another.

Ill ask my brother..im pretty sure the dam was sk wide om account of us need to be able to bush hog it comfortably an we didnt want it too steep…i remember we bought several bags of native grass seed an them dang things was like $1500 for a 50lb bag an i seeded it with a dang hand seeder they sent with the seed..had some kinda funky teeth in it for grabbin that native seed..it like to have killed me…i think one side of it got hydro seeded later on when the seed didnt act right…i know i pulled this old reel sprinkler with a 100ft gun on it..it would reel itself up so it sprinked a larger area…i remember havin to pul that dang trolley an all that polly line off that thing with a 4 wheeler..bout a 110 degrees an no shade no wer.
