Glad to see the SEC represented with 8 teams this year. I am sure these games are all determined years ahead and its all about the money and who bids these games. But how come Bama and Auburn have to go to spokane WA? They are in the South and East brackets, also why are their no games in the heart of the South at all?

CNC it will not surprise me if either Bama or Auburn or both loose in Spokane. That is one heck of a road trip.

Both of the first round matchups are against east coast teams. At least the opponent will need to travel across country also.

Only the dumbarses of the NCAA can put games of the east regional in a state in the west coast.

One guy on ESPN said that Grand Canyon U will have the "home court advantage" playing in Spokane, Washington compared to Alabama. As if Phoenix, AZ and Spokane are not 1,000 miles apart.

Auburn was projected to be a 3 seed in Purdues bracket which would have been the easiest draw possible. Instead they have the toughest road being in Uconn's bracket. Their guard play is still extremely underwhelming and will be their downfall but they would have had a really good shot to go deep if they would have gotten their protected draw. As it stands I expect them to be done by the sweet 16.

They took it on chin - most were projecting a 3 - think giving us a tuff road makes most happy. They eventually would hav to play those guys - be interesting to see how they handle it
Last time they did this to us we won the sec tourney and stayed a 5 and they shipped us out to that area in a brutal bracket - we ended up in final 4 w some brutal game changing calls (folks dont like au winning) - but our guard play not as strong this year

Someone said Bama's AD is on the committee, which would explain Auburn's draw. Should have been a #3. Auburn is #15 and Bama #16 but yet Auburn is in the bracket with Uconn, the #1. That should be Bama with Uconn. Instead Bama somehow gets to play in the bracket with #4 overall, North Carolina. Bama has the easier 2nd round game as well, playing #20 instead of #17 as they should.

FYI - Auburn is #7 in the final coaches poll.

Well, Byrne is one of 12 on the committee. Iowa State AD is also on committee and they got put in same bracket after destroying #1 Houston. Some thought ISU was best #2. They are VERY good.

Pearl is pretty good at turning a setback into a motivation, so don't be surprised if he doesn't get the team fired up about being snubbed by the committee.

The way Auburn is currently playing ball, I believe they would beat UConn. At least if they played the Auburn team I watched the last two games. They are hitting on all cylinders. They have all the tools from Point to Center, with depth at each position off the bench. They are going to go far. Might even win it. The 64 tournament is hard to beat and one of the most exciting things in sports today. I love it.

This is pretty ridiculous I agree. To add to Bama and Auburn going to Spokane, so is UAB. Samford is having to play their R64 game in Salt Lake City. All 4 Alabama teams are going to have to travel 2,000 miles give or take to go play their games.
