Monday and Tuesday morning could get a freeze and frost across most of the state, especially in the hills. Wonder if it that is the last shot of freezing we get till Fall?

I planted my tomato plants yesterday so I’ll just put buckets over them Tuesday night.

Easter isnt here yet. That was always Daddys clue as to when to plant. Once Easter has been celebrated it was time to plant! He also would look for Bumblebees. He said when you see the first Bumblebee, cold weather was behind us.

PS-These didn't always work. In his later years we always starting planting on Tax Day.

Last night I moved my tomato plants inside. Got my garden tilled. I put a Brand new engine on my tiller. Gonna start all my seeds in doors anyway now. Then transplant them after April 15th. I plant a couple hundred watermelon so they won't go into the ground til it's really warm, probably May 1st. My poppaw always waited til May 1st to plant everything.

Always an Easter freeze. Always. And this year Easter is super early, late March.

I put on my calendar that we will have a frost on April 12th because it thundered in February. I'm waiting to see how that tale pans out

No, it’s not the last. I wouldn’t doubt some in Bama gets snow before the end of April. Also, we always get some freezing weather to play with during turkey season.

I saw the 5 gallon bucket deal on YouTube or FB reel. Gonna roll $30 on it. Those store bought maters at $2.25 apiece is getting rough. For two early girls so they need to hurry up. 😝

Dang frost really hit my fig trees last year. They were fully leafed out and big. I had to cut them way back for new growth. They have once again leafed out...dang freezing cold Monday night/Tuesday morning. Just about to give up.
