I bought a used Xterra to drive and write off the mileage for a project. It had pretty high mileage when I bought it and obviously even higher when I sold it. Fuel mileage wasn’t good (16?). It had 325k+ when I sold it and was still dripping condensation from the tailpipe like you’d expect from a really healthy engine. That thing actually surprised me. I’ve always had confidence in Toyota for that kind of dependability in a smaller truck. That could have been a one off experience with no hope for repeatability for all I know.
