And I don’t think anyone has said that it is a sin to eat plants. We just choose not to because it is a healthier lifestyle for us. God doesn’t say that you have to eat plants. Not do you have to eat meat.

So yeah we are designed to eat plants. We have molars. But that doesn’t mean we have to. Your body DEFINITELY doesn’t NEED to. Unless you have some sort of abnormal deficiency that only a plant can provide.

To me, your point is like saying… well God gave us dominion over the animals. So we are designed to ride horses and plow fields with oxen. We CAN do those things. But we don’t HAVE to.

I’d argue that if God designed us to eat fruits and vegetables, our bodies probably function best including those in our diet. Can some people have better health with carnivore? Sure. But I believe most people need fruits, vegetables, carbohydrates. How many Olympic athletes only eat meat?

Do you take any vitamins or supplements?

I do not.

I don’t know of any Olympic athletes on the carnivore diet because I didn’t research that before I tried it. But I did research it regarding professional athletes. There are a lot of athletes that swear by it. A broad range of sports and athletes. I would encourage you to research why your body would need fruits, vegetables, and seeds. And look outside the “because it’s a balanced diet”.

The one positive that I’ve found from eating fruits and veggies is gut health. And taking a probiotic will fix that if you have any issues with it. Most carnivores don’t. If you develop other deficiencies, they can usually be corrected by eating organs. Liver, kidneys, brain… gross right? So most people on carnivore don’t eat organs, they take vitamins. I haven’t gotten any deficiencies from it so far so I don’t need any supplements.

Most people don’t realize how tired they are or how much inflammation they have until they try this diet. And it’s not for everyone. My wife doesn’t like meat too much so she won’t do it. And I get it. It goes against a lot of the information we have been taught for years. It’s new and weird and doesn’t sound like it would be healthy. But all the research and results I’ve seen say other wise.

If you want to gain weight and also gain muscle you need to eat higher calories and higher protein and you need to lift heavy weights in a rep range that encourages muscle hypertrophy.

It's a simple as that. Anyone that says anything different is selling you a bunch of bullchit and merely parroting anecdotal evidence.

Listen to me... Your body needs vegetables as well as meat (protein), healthy fats and even carbohydrates to properly function long term.

The carnivore diet isn’t just about weight loss. It’s about overall health, energy level, better sleep, and help with autoimmune issues.

But my caloric intake goes up when I’m on carnivore and I still lose weight. When I’m off the diet, my caloric intake goes down and I gain/ maintain weight. Any idea why?

It's not the eating of meat, cheese ect. Its the absence of processed carbohydrates. You can also add all the fruits, vegetables to this diet and see similar results. If you go full carnivore get regular check ups to monitor your lipids and kidneys. I tried this in my late.20's. It didn't work well with my intense exercise routine i was on at the time.

I have no idea without seeing data. And when I say "data" I mean something more than some random guy on the internet saying that "It made them feel better and lose weight and, oh yeah... They got really strong too."

I'm not doubting that some people have gotten results, but we have to do better than anecdotal evidence.

If you look at actual data, the people that live the longest and healthiest lives are folks that eat a varied diet of fruits, nuts, beans, fish, lean meats, vegetables, etc... Not bacon, cheese, eggs, steak and hamburger.

I have a buddy who was an otherwise healthy guy, but he had high blood pressure, high cholesterol, etc... He went to some retreat and all they served was vegetarian food, now he's no vegetarian. He has nothing against eating animals, but he stayed eating vegetarian for a few months, and guess what... his numbers fell off the chart. So much so that his doctor, who was a specialist, wanted to know how he did it all without medication, so he told him and the doctor couldn't believe it.

I think you would see similar results of weight loss yes, but you may lose some of the other benefits. You are correct about getting regular check ups. Better to be cautious. Everyone is a little different.

That’s awesome for your buddy. It’s crazy how much our diet affects different parts of our health. When I started carnivore my cholesterol went down as well. Mine wasn’t high. But it dropped a little. My good cholesterol went up, which is a sign of plaque breaking up in arteries.

I know when I am doing keto/low carb (and try to keep it as "clean" as possible) that all my numbers on my bloodwork improve.

Now, it has not proven to be the dramatic weight loss magic that some have had, but being female, I am already not going to do as well with that as a male when everything else is the same.

I have the best results when I make most meals at home and when I add in intermittent fasting, which is much easier when I consume good protein and healthy fats because I simply don't get hungry as often and as long as I stay busy I don't "boredom" eat.

My goal is to just avoid having to go on daily meds for anything. I am not a real compliant sort when it comes to taking anything daily for longer than a normal course of antibiotics. I do take a once a week megadose of Vitamin D2, though.

It's funny in his little sale pitch he mentions the limbal ring in your eyes. It has been scientifically proven that the opposite sex is genetically pre-programmed to find partners with a well defined limbal ring as a sign of health and vitality and therefore someone to mate with.

I’ve been changing my diet up significantly. Still fall short at times though.
First and foremost have cut out a lot of fried foods
If cooked on blackstone I have always used avocado or EVO oil but use less now.
I’ve been eating a ton of bacon. My cardiologist said I don’t know what you’re doing but your numbers are almost perfect. I told her I’m eating several lbs of bacon a week. Said she didn’t need to hear that. Yet I keep seeing things about bacon actually being good for you. Not the heaviest processed brands but the more traditional ones.

The bottom line is the less refined the better.
I think meat and raw veggies is more inline with the best foods
Trying to make my snacks more and more be bacon and raw veggies.

….and eggs, lots of yard chicken eggs

Supposedly he trains the Hollywood stars for rapid weight loss.

But yeah he used beautiful people and mentions many underlying clues about sex

Ok Ladies and Gents
Today is day 10 on carnivore and this is what Ive experienced in 3 days since my first update
On and off headache from detoxing and started having diarrhea the afternoon of day 7 and still have it as of last night
My energy level has definitely increased and my pain levels have decreased
My weight seems to be dropping faster than expected as Ive went from 199 on day 7 to 195 on day 10
Overall my mental clarity is much better but my tolerance level is way down and I get aggravated easily but then this is a part of detoxing
I hope to have my Total Gym in place this coming week so I can start on my workout regimen again
I'm not doing this for weight loss though I know this will happen
My goal is to reset my immune system and slowly incorporate veggies into my diet as I try to figure out what are the triggers for this autoimmune disease I deal with if there are any triggers
This may seem a bit extreme to some but not to me and I'm going to fight this thing and win..(theres no such thing as victory without a fight)
Too many steroids and steroid creams and ointments over the years and the third different diagnosis is what started this whole thing

When I need expert advice I tend to talk to myself
The older I get the better I used to be

Has your doctors considered that you possibly have developed a gluten allergies or celiac disease.

If you have anything with wheat or made from wheat that triggers symptoms, it could give some indication.

Hope you find a diagnosis and proper course of treatment.

I’ve had so much bloodwork and biopsies done with no definitive diagnosis or cure
Frankly I’m tired of being poked prodded and cut on to end up with a different diagnosis and a new med to try

No such thing as victory without a fight - i like that comment - true

I will say a prayer for you

For those on here that need diet for weight loss - optivia has worked great for me - not cheap - but - once you drop ton of weight in few months - you can just go on a maintenance plan each month or learn how to eat to live and not live to eat

I am glad i started working out again - the end of May will
Be a year

Hunt the wind - leave it better than you found it - love your neighbor as you love your self
We need prayer for our country now more than ever
