“Pressure” only matters if the deer know they’re being shot at…..The deer in Cades Cove don’t care how and when humans come and go. The concept of deer knowing they are being shot at suggest the cognitive ability of a deer to understand combustion fired projectiles AND have an understanding of it being human related. It’s a disturbance, that if heard harmlessly throughout their life, illicits no response. You can hear a rifle shot 700 yards away and react differently than someone firing a rifle less than a 100 yards from you…. You will to jump when surprised.
