Have you not seen the videos of turkeys swimming

That’s the reason those Florida birds grow them long legs. They deal with that all the time. And they have longer spurs to gig mudcats

I've called two birds across the Tombigbee River, but they didn't wade.....and I've had em hang up on a foot wide creek!!!!!
I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....

I’ve definitely seen them wade across backed up river water. In the swamps they just walk through it all the time. My son's bird last year was a swamp bird and the legs were very pale from all the time the bird spent in the water.

I hav had them fly across creeks to me at diff times from the ground and not the tree
I hav also seen 2 walk across the bogue creek in deer season - it was only about 6 inches deep amd seen em wade 5-7 inch swamps in jackson al
Hunt the wind - leave it better than you found it - love your neighbor as you love your self We need prayer for our country now more than ever

I've heard people say a lot about what turkeys won't do and I've seen them all proven wrong . I remember several years ago when I was just getting started in turkey hunting, I'd seen multiple people say (both here and the Old Gobbler site) that it's nearly impossible to call a turkey across water. Then, the first time I went out solo, on a neighbors land behind our old house, I managed to call one up to the opposite side of a creek with an old Lynch Foolproof box call. He paced back and forth on the bank for a couple of minutes and then flew right across it to my side (although well out of range). I also watched some hens that same season walking around in 6" of water in a flooded field. I learned that when anyone talks about turkeys in absolutes, take it with a grain of salt.

1. All Politicians Are Liars 2. All Gun Laws Are an Infringement 3. Taxation Is Theft

I love those box calls , still got one . Yeah I've called a few a across the Tallapoosa river . Saw one not make it one morning he flopped his way on across.

They will definitely do it. If you had the choice though, you would want to be on the same side. You are asking the bird to do what he doesn’t like to do, so believe me when I say that. I’ve had them hang up on a lot less.
