Possum Brand Sardines are what we grew up on. My family ate them all the time as a snack. The Possum Brand is no longer available and it is saddening to me. No telling how many of these we ate as kids. They were the best ever.

So far those were the only ones I could eat
Gonna try some of these other name brands.

Cant remember the brand but its in a larger tin than regular sardines, but its smoked sardines at Publix.
I eat them 3-4 times a year.

When the Possum brand became unavailable I just about quit eating sardines. I'll have to try the King Oscar brand.

King Oscar is the best....I love those itty bitty ones in olive oil.... then there's Beach cliff in oil....my old time favorite.... those smoked herring fillets are real good too... get me some pickled peppers,, those skinny green ones .... some pickled onions .... some crackers or crackers and sardines with some crystal hot sauce.

That looks just like my snack today, except the beer was a Modello Oro. I had the Beach Cliff in hot sauce with saltines. First time I have tried those and they ere great. Had to use a little spoon to get the hot sauce out and add a little extra to every cracker.

Anybody ever mushed them up and put some pickle relish and mayo and make a sandwich, like you do with tuna fish?
