Anyone have one for their home? My son’s place in Auburn has one and I’m really impressed with it and the capabilities of it. So much that I’m looking at getting one for my house. Anyone else run them or have anything else they’d recommend?

I have one , the Batey boys put it in when they changed my unit a couple years ago. Pretty slick . I don't even know how to work all the features . I can get around on it pretty good and control it with my phone when away from the house. Maybe one of the Batey boys will chime in , they're a dealer.

I like ‘em. Have one in my house and we’ve probably installed 200 of them over the past year. With the exception of the random issue here or there with them, they have been very very reliable, too. Much more reliable option than the comparable Nest stats.

They have a couple of primary options. One of them being considered more of a premium option. It has built in Amazon Alexa Siri, can play music and all that neat stuff.

I can’t speak to the products coming from somewhere like Home Depot or Lowe’s, thermostats (in general) from big box stores aren’t the exact same and I never trust them.

We have an Ecobee and I like it. I don’t know how it compares to any other “smart” thermostats but I have no complaints.

I’ll just stick with my “dumb” thermostat.

I have one in our house and like it, my wife can do most everything on her phone when needed, definitely when we are away and the system needs to be turned on or off, or adjusted. It gives alerts on when it's time to change filters, etc.

I have a programable thermostat that is programed by my finger all day long when I get too hot or too cold, I adjust it myself.

I said the same for years. When I installed a digital thermostat, I thought I was high cotton. I never had any interest in a thermostat that I could control remotely, or program, until I bought my son’s place. I love the fact that we can keep a check on the system when he’s home from school. It’s also nice to be able to put it on an automatic setting that allows me to adjust the perimeters for the a/c as well as the heat. Once I do that, I pretty much don’t touch it anymore. If it needs the a/c, then the a/c comes on. If it needs heat, then the heat comes on. When it’s time to change the filters, it reminds me to do so. When it’s time to have the system inspected or maintained, it reminds me of that too. If my son comes home from school, and forgets to adjust the settings like most kids will do, I can do it from my phone and keep the system from running when no one is there.

What happens when Wi-Fi goes down?

It doesn’t stop the thermostat from working. Just from monitoring it when no one is there. As soon as the wi-if comes back up, the ability to monitor it remotely is restored.
