Dont eat them often.
I like saltines and yellow mustard or hot sauce.
I need to start getting the boneless ones.

I though I would like the fillets better, but I think I like the ones with bones in the better. There all good though.

Saw some SE Asians cooking sardines in an electric rice cooker(with rice) for breakfast at the end of Dauphin Island pier back in the day. There’s a few times I’ve been tempted to try my hand at smoking some.

My granddaddy would always eat sardines in mustard and wash it down with buttermilk. I never could understand why he loved that snack so much. I just assume put some creamy peanut butter on a saltine. No mercury there, ha!

Kippers are bigger herring and they have a nice mild flavor

Possum Brand Sardines are what we grew up on. My family ate them all the time as a snack. The Possum Brand is no longer available and it is saddening to me. No telling how many of these we ate as kids. They were the best ever.

Possum were the best. One of my first post here was where to find some.

Don't fall for a cheap price and choose the good quality slightly smoked fillets for a first timer, and you will be pleased.

On a cracker with either hot sauce, spicy mustard or a tiny bit of pickle relish and you will be a happy man.
