Ran traps this morning and had a DP with a foot in it
Its not a coon or possum
The foot is as big as a grown coons foot
The DP wasnt pulled from the ground and there was no disturbance around the trap where it had struggled
There in no center footpad on it
The pad goes around the outside edge of the foot

Looks like front foot of an Otter. Can't beleive it didn't tear up all heck trying to get loose.

I’m going with opossum too! Better put up a trail cam and see if we can get a picture of the crippled critter.

It definitely looks like a possum except for that chocolate brown fur
The fact that the DP wasnt pulled up and the ground around it wasnt disturbed around it is still a mystery too

I got a black one on cam. Probably what foot is - but i would not have guessed it if BOFF had not said it. Possum real dosile - may not create dig marks are struggle around trap and something prob came up and ate him

Just guessing on the above and Deadeye a bettr trapper than me 😀

Google and I found some pics of opossum that look identical. But I’ve never seen one that color either
