Most recently, I purchased a 1971 Remington Model 700 BDL in a short action caliber, .243 win., from a member here. I took the newly acquired piece to Isaac Gallagher last Thursday afternoon for him to begin a new build for me. This short action rifle will be turned into a custom .7mm-08. This one may turn out to be my favorite yet.
Here's a preview of what's coming...
- Custom Isaac Gallagher built Remington 700 in .7mm-08
- McMillan "Hunter" Monte Carlo style stock in Black Paint with texture
- Custom, Blue (my favorite color) Spider webbing on stock done by Branden Burkhart of Kansas City, Missouri
- 24" Bartlein 3B Stainless Steel #5 Contour Barrel (1:9 twist) with Diamond Fluting
- Diamond Fluted bolt with Graphite Black Cerakote in flutes and rest polished
- Skeletonized bolt handle and bolt shroud
- Remington 700 action blueprinted
- Slab Cut Contoured action with Gallagher logo
- Customized factory Remington (Walker) trigger @ 2 lbs.
- All metal Cerakoted Graphite Black Satin
- Deer Head Laser Engraved bottom metal
- Talley one piece Lightweight rings/base
- Leupold VX-5HD 3 -15 x 44 mm CDS scope with Illuminated Firedot duplex reticle, throw lever, Optima Alumina scope covers
Hoping it will shoot the HSM Sierra Gameking 140 grain soft point ammo really well. I'm confident that it will. Now, the wait is on...
I'll try to share a few PICS along the way.
