Hunters are supposed to be able to analyze deer jaws on the hoof and gauge 150lb? There are also people who pack deer out from deep in public land.

If you want antler restrictions X" inside spread and 3-4 points on one side or something along those lines.

TBH just limiting to 2 bucks, one with antler restrictions, and 2-3 does + DMP if you want more would increase the deer herd by quite a bit.

"I have never hunted a piece of public land that I thought had too many does"
I can see deer on public most hunts but I've only had 1 honey hole on public that I ALWAYS saw deer in. 5-6 does every time and decent bucks most of the time. Was a super narrow SMZ with thick pines on one side and cutover on the other. Didn't know how good I had it there. Huge PITA to get in and out of but it was worth it.

Just because you see deer every time doesn’t mean there are too many deer

Also, the 3 criteria work together. On average, you would satisfy at least one of those requirements with a 3 year old

And if you’re worried about packing out deer on public land, good. It’s supposed to be difficult
