Don’t know if anyone mentioned it. But it’s baseball season. Some Catchers do that so when they are giving signs the pitcher can see it better.

For catcher ok

Otherwise very queer - would hav given them hard time growing up

See it often here. Just another fashion trend or whatever. Everything gets worse near a big city.

Been here long enough to go from "bring 'da pain" to " bring 'da pain meds.

Yeah I bet that most guys who paint their fingernails are “catchers”.

Had an Electrician at the Steel Mill back in Gary in the 70's. He started painting his nails with clear polish one day, and started growing his hair. People started talking, and they were right.
Later he dyed his hair red, and started coming through the gate dressed as a Woman. Of course this guy dressed right across the aisle from me in the "wash house". He wore a bra and
panties and took some minor ribbing and gawking amongst all the other guys. Well, he was Greek, and there were hundreds of Greek immigrants who worked at the mill during those years.
Pretty soon as the word spread, Greeks from the other side of the Mill would show up at shift change just top take a gander at this cat. They would watch him dress with big ol' smiles on
their faces with plenty of cat calls. He came to be known as Barbara, and confided in some of the other Electricians that his Doctor made him "walk the walk" for a while to prove it wasn't
just a passing whim. It was one of the more bizarre things I've ever witnessed in my life. This was pretty much unheard of in the 70's.

I have the joy of having 4 beautiful granddaughters, each of them have had their turn(s) painting my finger nails, putting make up on my face, putting gobs of gel in my hair., lotion on my arms.... and I wouldn't trade it anything in the world!

I'm with you, only with 2 granddaughters, they've outgrown it but back when they were around 4-7 years old, wow they had fun fixing me up!
