I think you have jumped to a conclusion that is likely based on a bad interpretation. Repent, as I've been taught by Bible scholars does not mean to stop sinning, which we are incapable of. It means to have a change of mind and to agree with God.

That kinda sounds like Church of Christ interpretation, I’m not going to get into different religions interpretations of the Bible, but the difference is Taylor is ignoring what the Bible clearly states, not what it doesn’t say. Your problem is Graham is preaching what the Bible doesn’t say, I have enough problem trying to follow what it clearly states. I do think your taking what he said to literally though, but I’m in no position to tell you are wrong…

Well I was checking in after my shower. I guess Peter’s sermon at pentecost was a false gospel then. I really am going to bed this time lol

the gospel is the good news of what Jesus did in His death burial and raising Himself from the dead. the Holy spirit convicts the world of sin. if you heed the conviction you realize you are a sinner and your only hope is in a savior who did for you what you couldn't do for yourself. that is the good news. yes Kyle's I'm saved not because of me but inspiteof me.the Bible says while we were yet sinners Christ died for us. Bill I havnt jumped to conclusions we agree. that's what I was saying billy front loaded the gospel with works. the calvanist backload it with works. both are false. there is NOTHING YOU CAN DO TO SAVE YOURSELF. Jesus did it all all we have to do is trust in Him. Abraham believed God and it was credited him as righteousness

One bible , one god . Read for yourself . Interpret it for yourself and live ur life likewise . There will be many people trying preach their version of interpretation. Judgement day we will all know the truth .

I always grew up viewing Graham like he was the Baptist pope and admired him. I'm not Billy Graham's final judge, but he did seem to compromise into ecumenicalism in his later years. He basically claimed you don't have to be Christian to admire Jesus for salvation through other religions. That clearly goes against John 14:6. He departed from the gospel no matter what you think of him.

Good morning I have been studying for 2 hours I even watched the link you posted. You caught me off guard when you said Billy Graham was in hell. Just to get one thing straight we probably agree on 95% of what we talk about. But you have made a point of telling me many times when Bible discussions are brought up where I am wrong.I got 2 questions you need to answer for me 1. Peter said in Acts 2;38 " Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost:.You quoted John his message after 400 years of silence in Mathew 3;2 was repent ye for the kingdom of Heaven is at hand. I could go into the Hebrew words for repentance but this is pretty plain to me. When the Holy Spirit convicted me of my sins i kneeled at an old fashion alter and asked God to forgive me and asked Jesus to come into my heart and let his blood cleanse me from my sin. I honestly think that is what the bible teaches. #2 What put Billy Graham in Hell? I have heard hisTestimony of how he accepted Christ as his Savior. You may be right about him saying things in his later years that neither of us agree on. He may have sinned doing this but what put him in hell? I am probably a sorrow example of a Christian but my faith is in him nothing I done but his death on the cross saved me. The book of James will tell you all about works it is not a requirement but how could you not do things for the one you love? That is all the Jesus some people see. I worked with some free Holiness people about 45 years ago and they told a member she was going to hell because she had sinned after salvation. She killed herself and that always tore me up inside. So let the Holy Spirit do the convictions. Our job is to present the Gospel.

great point….I wish I was smart enough to figure all this out but I cant. Ive always wondered what about the remote tribes in Africa that have absolutely no connection to the outside world and have legitimately have never heard the word or story of Jesus? Are they doomed to Hell because of their situation? I asked a baptist preacher that question one time and his answer kinda went along with what Graham said. He said GOD lays a spiritual thought in their heart of Christianity, if they choose to except it they are saved. Not sure I go along with that but it’s just hard for me understand how a person could be cast into hell because of their isolation. That extends to communist and muslim countries that dont allow the plan of salvation. I dont know that answer, Im just glad I live in a place that I can read the Bible and make a decision without fear of death.

Romans 1:20 tells us that no one has an excuse. God has revealed Himself through his creation, us and the world around us. That's not enough to save anyone apart from placing their trust in Christ, but it does make them aware of God. Acts 2 tells us the account of the Ethiopian eunuch who was a thousand miles from home. Phillip was sent to him providentially to share the gospel. God ordains the means to bring about His sovereign purpose. He sends missionaries to remote parts of the globe and makes the printed Word available in many different languages.

Jim Eliliot went to the remote jungles of Ecuador sharing the Gospel and it cost him his life. The result was that an entire tribe, in a remote part of the world placed their faith in Jesus.

I’m smart enough to only make this comment. There’s a reason so many jokes about religion revolve around CoC and I grew up one. Everybody was going to hell but us.

I do recall several scriptures dealing with judgment and not being the one doing that. 😝

Along those lines, a man dies and goes to heaven. Upon arrival he is taken on a tour by St. Peter. The first room is the Methodist, “they sprinkle and allow women preachers”, the second room is Southern Baptist, “they believe in ‘once saved, aways saved” and women cannot be preachers””, the next room is the CoC, as they approach, St. Peter turns to the man and says…..Shhhh….this room is the CoC, they think they are the one ones here………..

Ive heard people say one religion is going to be there and one isnt….I was told by a guy one time that all Catholics are going to hell….BOTTOM LINE to me, except Jesus Christ as your personal savior and you’ll be there…people get to wrapped up on religion. Religion wont get you there, a personal relationship will……
