Beer belly I thought the same as you. A couple of months ago they burned a whole town to the ground. Then put up barricades so no one could see in while they cleaned it up. It would be much easier to remove the locals and sell their pristine and much-desired, high-value vacation properties if they aren't armed.

Also, an afterthought is that you now have many states going rough and doing their own things. Weak leadership or in this case no leadership at the federal level has led to this.
